Terms of use

These terms apply when you use the Faxsure iPhone app and the website faxsure.app. By using Faxsure you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data.

What Faxsure does

Faxsure sends your documents as faxes to US and Canadian fax numbers, and with Plus gives you your own fax number to receive faxes. It is an app for individuals sending and receiving their own documents. It is not a service for clinics, practices or other businesses sending other people's records.

Prices and payment

The price of a fax follows its page count and is shown before you send. In the US App Store:

• Fax up to 5 pages: $1.99
• Fax up to 10 pages: $2.99
• Fax up to 30 pages: $4.99
• Fax up to 50 pages: $7.99
• 5 faxes: $9.99 (each for a fax up to 10 pages; they never expire)

Your first fax is free (1 page), once per iPhone. The cover sheet is free and doesn't count as a page. A fax over 10 pages uses more than one of your prepaid faxes, as the app shows before you send. Over 50 pages the app offers to split the document into two faxes. In Canada the App Store shows prices in Canadian dollars. Apple takes payment; refunds are requested from Apple.

Sending

We try each fax up to 3 times. If it is not delivered after 3 attempts, it goes back on your balance automatically and the app tells you why in plain words. Delivered faxes get a PDF receipt. We cannot control the receiving machine or what the recipient does with your fax; a delivery receipt shows that the receiving machine accepted the pages, not that anyone read or accepted them.

You are responsible for the number you choose and for having the right to send the document. Fax numbers in our directory are copied from official sources with the source and the date we checked them; agencies change numbers, so check the source before sending. Faxsure is not affiliated with any government agency.

Do not send a fax under someone else's name.

What you may not send

• Advertising faxes of any kind: no fax that advertises goods, services or property to people who did not ask for it, in the US or in Canada.
• Bulk sending: the same document to many recipients, or lists of numbers.
• Faxes to people who asked you not to fax them.
• Threats, harassment, fraud, or anything unlawful.

To prevent abuse, Faxsure limits each iPhone to 20 sent faxes a day, blocks premium and special numbers, and holds the same document sent to more than 3 numbers in a day for review. We may refuse or stop sending, and block an iPhone or an account, when we see these rules broken.

Send and Plus

There are two optional subscriptions. Both renew automatically until you cancel. There is no trial. You can switch between them.

• Send costs $9.99 a month in the US App Store and gives you 200 pages to send each billing month, in any number of faxes.
• Plus costs $14.99 a month in the US App Store and gives you the same 200 pages to send, plus your own fax number for receiving faxes.

The cover sheet never counts as a page. A fax uses your pages only if it fits in the pages you have left that month; otherwise you pay for it at its normal price or with faxes you bought. Unused pages do not carry over to the next month. After 200 pages you can keep sending at the normal prices. Faxes you bought separately are kept and never expire. The limits in "What you may not send" apply to subscribers too.

You subscribe and cancel through Apple. To cancel, go to Settings on your iPhone, or tap Manage subscription in the app. The app reminds you 24 hours before each renewal; you can turn the reminder off.

When Plus ends, you can still read your received faxes for 14 days. Then they are deleted and we hold your number for 60 more days: if you subscribe again with the same Apple ID in that time, you get the same number back. After that the number is released and may be given to someone else. Faxes sent to your number while it is held are not kept.

Fair use

Plus includes up to 300 received pages each calendar month. Junk faxes sent to your number count too; you can block senders. We notify you at 80% and at 100%. We never withhold a fax and never charge extra automatically; if you go far above these amounts, we may contact you.

Received faxes

Faxes sent to your Faxsure number are kept on our servers for 30 days, then deleted. Copies you save stay on your iPhone. We are not responsible for what others send to your number.

Fill & sign

• Official forms are downloaded from the agency's own website directly to your iPhone. We do not host or provide copies of forms. Each form belongs to the agency that publishes it.
• What you type, your drafts and your signature stay on your iPhone.
• Our "How to fill out" pages and the "Check before you send" list repeat what the form and its official instructions say. They are not legal or tax advice, and they do not tell you what to answer. Faxsure does not fill in your answers for you.
• Each agency decides which signatures it accepts. Faxsure shows what the agency's instructions say about signatures on a faxed form and does not promise that a drawn signature will be accepted. When the instructions ask for a handwritten signature, print the form, sign it by hand and scan it.

Canadian users

Faxsure sends to Canadian numbers at the same prices as US numbers; the App Store shows them in Canadian dollars. The rules above against advertising and unsolicited faxes apply in Canada too.

Your data

How long we keep documents, received faxes and other data, and how to delete them, is in theprivacy policy. In short: documents are deleted after delivery, never later than 72 hours; received faxes after 30 days.

Changes

If we change these terms, we update the date at the top and, for changes that matter, tell you in the app before they apply.
